Are you doing nothing at home or is it so tired? Psychiatric doctors do not recommend "delaying and expressing stress": instead makes the brain more prone to fatigue

The pace of modern people's life is high, and many people's way of eliminating pressure is to "stay at home and be lazy without doing anything", which seems to be the best way to relax, but psychiatrists remind that from the perspective of "eliminating fatigue", they do not recommend it. Although the body energy will not be consumed when they are in a daze, it is easy to keep the brain in a state of inability to rest.

Japanese psychiatrist Sidow mentioned in his book "Why do I eat cake, watch movies, and go to the gym, and I still feel better", which points out that when I'm in a daze, a "Default Mode Network" (simply DMN) makes the nerves become alive, which will make my brain more prone to fatigue.

{9 When active, 60-80% of the brain's energy will be used; once the DMN becomes active, the brain will react more quickly than when it is completely inactive, so DMN is considered to be able to effectively help crisis management or produce new points.

In addition, DMN also has an effect on relaxing the body and organizing the memory, so DMN activity is not a bad thing. However, because of the use of energy in the brain, it is easy to fall into the state of "the body is resting, but the brain is still tired."

Did you spend the holidays and feel tired and not relieved?

Sidow pointed out that this is because of inaction, causing DMN to become alive, causing the brain to become tired and unable to eliminate fatigue. When you are in a position, you may start thinking about something that is not important, or the feelings of anxiety will become stronger, which is the negative impact of DMN. Especially after a disturbing thing occurs or when pressure accumulates, DMN will increase the possibility of negative thinking.

Sidow suggests that if you want to relieve your fatigue and be stupid without doing anything, it is better to ensure that you can have time to concentrate on something. He claimed that when he was in the psychiatric department, patients who stopped working due to depression would ask them not to waste time at home, but to focus their spare time on something, such as walking or some simple work.

He emphasized that DMN is not a bad thing, and does not need to stop it from functioning completely, but to avoid getting tired without knowing it, and to intentionally change the rest time between the mental and physical body, such as focusing on something now, or letting the body rest now.
