Rabiot's mother Veronica recently accepted an exclusive interview with the French media "Team" and talked about the player's failure to join Manchester United in 2022 because of demanding a high salary.
Veronica responded: "It's not true at all. That year, Adrian (Rabiot) was ready to leave Juventus. Although the team was qualified for the Champions League and Manchester United did not, we contacted and discussed the conditions. At the end of the negotiations, they told me: 'If we fail to qualify for the Champions League next season, Rabiot's salary will be reduced.' I think it's very rude and disrespectful. I said: 'Then let's stop negotiating.' They thought it was a strategy to fight for more benefits, but it was actually a matter of principle, not a matter of money. Obviously, it surprised them because they were not used to it."
