Friends who have mother cats at home may have encountered the situation where mother cats give birth to babies, so some newborn kittens still need careful care. Let’s briefly talk about how to feed newborn kittens to drink milk.

1. Let the kitten suck by itself

The newly born kitten has not yet developed vision and hearing, so it is difficult to feel the existence of breast milk. Therefore, if the female cat is by the kitten, the owner can wear disposable gloves and try to put the female cat's nipples in the kitten's mouth and let it suck on its own.

2. Feed with a spoon

If the kitten is weak and cannot suck milk by itself, the owner can feed it with a spoon to drink milk. When feeding, you need to slowly pour the milk from the spoon into the kitten's mouth. Never pour it too fast to prevent the milk from flowing into the kitten's lungs. At the same time, be careful not to lift the kitten's head too high, otherwise it will also be fed into the lungs.

3. Feed with a bottle

If the kitten can suck milk, the owner can feed the kitten with a pet-specific bottle. At this time, you should pay attention to the size of the hole on the pacifier, so that only one drop of milk will drop down each time. Too large will cause the kitten to choke when sucking milk, and may also suck into the lungs. If the hole in the bottle is too small, it will be very difficult for the kitten to suck breasts.

4. Feed with a syringe

Some kittens may not use pet bottles. At this time, it is recommended to use a syringe to feed the kittens. The specific method of use is to first use a syringe to draw an appropriate amount of pet goat milk, and then inject it drop by drop through the corner of the kitten's mouth. After the kitten swallows, it will continue to inject it. It cannot be continuously injected to prevent the milk from entering the lungs, resulting in serious conditions such as foreign body pneumonia.
