Recently, when I was photographing birds in the sand settling pond in the north of the Yellow River in Jinan, I photographed the "panda ducks" that spend the winter in Jinan. I saw them sometimes flying, sometimes foraging, and sometimes playing... Accompanied by the clear Yellow River water, they created a beautiful ecological picture.

The scientific name of "Panda Duck" is white merganser and spotted-headed merganser. The male bird's body feathers are mainly black and white, and the eyes are surrounded by black, which resembles the eyes of a panda, so it is called "Panda Duck". "Panda Duck" was included in the IUCN Red List of Endangered Species in 2012 and is a national second-level protected animal. Its population has been significantly reduced, and it usually operates in small groups of a few to a dozen individuals. They are nature's "ecological inspectors" and are extremely picky about their living environment. They are atmospheric and water quality monitoring birds.
