According to talkSport, Ferdinand's eldest son Lorenz officially signed his first professional contract with Brighton.

Lorenz Ferdinand is a goalkeeper who has played in Brighton's youth training system since 2022. As early as three years ago, he began to compete for the club's U18 echelon and gradually promoted to the U21 echelon to participate in the competition. Now, he has finally won his first formal contract in his career.

Ferdinand and his wife Kate shared photos of their son Lorenz signing on social media and expressed the pride of the whole family.

Ferdinand wrote on Instagram: "This is a very proud moment for our family. Lorenz signed his first professional contract. We are all proud of you."

Lorenz received many blessings, and many Manchester United fans and football celebrities also left messages in the comment area.

Former Manchester United goalkeeper Van der Sar wrote: "Come on, Lorenz, become the goalkeeper you have always dreamed of being! Good luck!"

Former Red Devils defender Evra replied concisely: "Great!"

Phil Neville, Robbie Keane and Italian celebrity Vieri also sent congratulations.

■Lorenz's career so far

Before signing a professional contract, Lorenz has accumulated a lot of playing experience in the youth echelon. He played 20 games in the U18 Premier League for Brighton U18, played twice in the FA Youth Cup, and participated in 1 Premier League Cup.

In addition, he has played once in the Premier League 2, and it is very likely that he will continue to increase his playing time in the new season. So far, the young goalkeeper has completed 24 official games, with a total playing time of more than 2,000 minutes.

For young Lorenz, there seems to be only one direction ahead: continue to move upward.

Lorenz will strive to follow in the footsteps of his legendary father. Leo Ferdinand won 6 Premier League titles and 1 Champions League title in his career, and is recognized as one of the greatest central defenders in Manchester United's history. Ferdinand now hopes that his son can achieve the same success in the professional arena.
